Truth
Only read if you want a megadose of reality
Sometimes I look around and life seems normal. There's food in the grocery store, kids playing in the park, birds chirping in my back yard.
But that's what collapse wants you to believe.
Collapse is insidious. Quiet. Creeping silently into the cracks of civilization, camouflaged by the noise.
To exist, collapse can't allow the casual observer to see it. Anecdotes, your eyes, your ears are comfortably deceiving. We want to believe, so we soak up the narrative that puts us at ease.
Of course children are playing. Of course birds are chirping. Just like the string quartet played-on after the Titanic was gouged by an iceberg. Looking only at what's in front of you, of course it seems like still time to play.
The truth, as it always does, emerges from the data. The long term trends paint the most realistic picture, but is buried by academia or blocked by the latest news about the Kardashians.
The empirical paintbrush - the truth - clearly shows that we're fucked.
Below I share a series of charts that explain all you need to know. That is, if you can face reality.
